Rev. John J. Devoe, Jr.

Our Pastor

Reverend John J. Devoe, Jr. is the pastor of Grace Baptist Church of East Springfield in Jacksonville, FL. He is married to the lovely First Lady Rose Devoe, and together, they have two beautiful and talented adult daughters and one blessed little boy.

Reverend Devoe is a native of Jacksonville, FL where he was educated in the Duval County public schools, graduating from William M. Raines High School in 1979, and later furthering his studies at Luther Rice Seminary School of Divinity.

Reverend Devoe was baptized at the tender age of ten at West Union Baptist Church. In 1991, he joined Greater Macedonia Baptist Church where he harkened to the call of God in 1994. It was under the tutelage of Rev. Dr. Landon L. Williams, Sr. that Reverend Devoe was licensed and ordained. During his tenure at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, Reverend Devoe served faithfully as Assistant Pastor and Married Couples Sunday School Teacher. It was also at Greater Macedonia where Reverend Devoe received his prison ministry training through the Charles W. Colson foundation.

On January 25, 2004, Reverend Devoe was called to his present role as pastor of Grace Baptist Church of East Springfield. Reverend Devoe continues to walk in true obedience and humility as he remains faithful to his calling. He is a humble servant of the Lord, a loyal and loving husband and father, an effective leader, and a dedicated mentor and friend. He is a man of purpose and destiny who has the favor of God resting upon him.
